Awards galore for Tree Gardens!
Ockendon Road, already with a 'Gold Award' got the competitive
First Place in a new category of 'Best Street or Part of a Street'.
We also got a 'Certificate of Excellence' from the London in Bloom,
and were mentioned by name in the Britain in Bloom Awards.
In addition, a number of individual beds were entered by the former
mayor, one of our local councillors, Barbara Smith. The bed outside No.2 got
a special Wildlife Friendliness Award and the one outside No.39 got two
awards - for the 'most sustainable entry tree pit' and then 1st Place for
'Best Tree Pit'.
The pits outside No.46 and No.68 had earlier got Bronze
Awards
So we came home laden with certificates, in addition to the
Gold Standard we already had.
