We are delighted to present the world premiere of Judith Paris' latest play, starring herself as the redoubtable Madame
Tussaud.  Learn and marvel!

(In the meantime Second Skin Theatre's edgy double bill, Stay With Me Till Dawn/Knuckleball is making our audiences
sit up - quality drama, beautifully executed and not for the faint hearted.)

WAXING LYRICAL
THE STORY OF MADAME TUSSAUD

Written and performed by Judith Paris
Directed by Ninon Jerome

Lighting by Sally Ferguson
Costume by Nina Morley
Sound design by Clive Derbyshire

This new one-woman play explores the life of a most remarkable woman. Marie Tussaud escaped the guillotine and survived the
horrors of the French revolution. She toured the towns of Britain for thirty three hard years with her travelling wax cabinet, fighting off
competition against a background of fire, riot, shipwreck and betrayal. She personified persistence, fortitude, dedication and self belief.
Why does everyone know of her Exhibition but no one know her story?

Judith Paris is a one-time member of both the National Theatre and the RSC, playing roles as diverse as Dottie in Jumpers with
Michael Hordern, Valeria in Coriolanus with Ian Mackellen, Celia in As You Like It with Charles Dance, Hecuba with Vanessa Redgrave.
She has often peformed in the West End and made her Broadway debut in Medea with Diana Rigg. She has appeared in many TV
roles, was the first female alien star in Dr Who, and made eight TV and feature films with Ken Russell .
